Tulip Melody

“What shall we call this flower?” asked the celestial gardener.

“I don’t know,” said the traveller.

“Well, what does it remind you of?”

“It reminds me of home - of my mother, and slow mornings where even the sun takes its time.”

“I see,” said the ancient being. “And your name?”

“Tulip.”

“Then Tulip it shall be - for it will remind me of the curious traveller who created a flower that gave me such joy.”
